Michelle's Lemon Cream Cheese Bars
Light, bright, and just the right amount of sweet, these lemon bars are perfect for spring gatherings, after-dinner dessert, or a weekend treat at home.
Ingredients:
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
¼ cup melted butter
2 tbsp sugar (for topping)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Layer the base:
Roll out one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the dish, sealing the seams.
Make the filling:
Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, lemon zest, and lemon juice until smooth.
Assemble:
Spread filling over the dough, then top with the second can of crescent dough (pinch seams together).
Finish:
Brush melted butter over the top and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
